THE PERFECT LOCATIOn

When this centrally located lot on the river became available, it was an obvious choice for this client to purchase and start building. Having Downtown, the University and Whyte Avenue so close along with river valley trails right outside the front door it was exactly what the client had been looking for. Now it was time to build the perfect house.

With the ideal lot secured, the homeowner went looking for a modern, clean design for his home. With the help of VW Design a complete concept was created that Birkholz could bring to life.

REVITALIZING A MATURE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Building in a mature neighbourhood often means working around restrictive covenants (in this case a very narrow lot) so the design and construction found a solution by building vertically, creating a beautiful 3 storey home.

Infill projects are a great way to create a dream house in a location ideally suited for the homeowner. There may be challenging building requirements but with the correct design, Birkholz Homes worked closely with the customer to build a spectacular home while revitalizing a mature neighbourhood

The large tinted windows throughout the house offer incredible views of the sunrise over the North Saskatchewan River on one side and the Muttart Conservatory on the other. A big roof top patio adds as an outdoor area ideal for entertaining.

The design incorporates a variety of light colours, natural woods, modern lighting and marble to create a West-Coast Contemporary home.
